Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will return this investment to investors, without interest, in approximately five years after investors become permanent residents.

Consequently, these three government agencies now conduct business with only those representatives who are members in good standing of either one of the above-mentioned professional organizations. In a word, this means that only member consultants are legally authorized to represent, advise or consult with a person in respect of a proceeding or application before the Minister, an Officer, or the Board.

To meet these regulatory requirements, we successfully fulfilled the membership requirements of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants and as a result got a license to conduct our business as a Certified Canadian Immigration Consultant (CCIC). This licensure provided us with a competitive advantage vis–vis other consultants because certified consultants are regarded as an assurance of quality. Certified consultants are equipped with the latest information on immigration law, procedures, and practices and go about their business according to a strict, enforceable Code of Conduct. Further, for added security and client protection, certified consultants are fully insured for errors and omissions and can be subject to complaints that are all duly investigated by the regulatory body. Besides, certified consultants have to keep their credentials current by maintaining their membership in good standing and engaging in continuous professional development. As a result, certified consultants are able to offer quality professional services and knowledgeable advice on immigration matters of critical importance to the client.
